Pictures of Life with Children

Tyler over at Building Camelot is holding a sort of a photo challenge that looked very intriguing. You can read all about it at his post, Pictures Of Life: Parenting Behind the Scenes.

Thus I present these photos of life with a four-year-old.

My theme is “Making Room” — all the ways Michael’s stuff has elbowed its way into what would otherwise be a boring, plain, grownup-ish environment.

Tom – this is awesome! Those are some great pictures and they really show what life is like with kids. Now, aren’t you glad you’ve captured those images? You’ll always have them and you’ll be able to look back at them an laugh one day.
Thanks for taking part in the “challenge” and I hope to see more.

  2. I’m glad you like them. It was tough to choose a theme, I had a lot of options. The runner-up was “detritus”, showing the various bits of stuff that are left lying about here and there in Michael’s wake. Michael’s Mommy is always quick to tidy that up so it will be a challenge to capture that.

@Tom: I see, well…with a newborn @ home there seems to be a lot of clutter around the house. I’m not sure there will ever come a time when the house is in order.

Thanks again for taking part in the project.

  4. Tyler – I know what you mean… after reaching the point where the kids were all old enough to keep things relatively orderly, suddenly we were thrust into the midst of newborn-related clutter again.

I feel for you. But this too shall pass, and you’ll still be with your sweetie when all is said and done. That’s what I’m looking forward to.

  5. I love the last shot. They’re all great but that one’s shot beautifully.

  6. Thanks. That was about the seventh take on that one. Had to test with/without flash and various aperture settings until it came out the way I wanted.
