It’s a beautiful Spring day, and naturally Michael and I are doing one of our favorite weekend activities: grocery shopping.
Outside of the store, a huge advertising balloon stands; a giant can of some sort of energy drink.
Michael asks: “Daddy, what’s that big can of stuff?”
“It’s not really a can of anything. It’s pretend. It’s an advertisement balloon.”
“What’s inside in it?”
“Nothing but air.”
“It’s not to drink?”
“No, we can’t drink that one. It’s too big.”
(long pause while he contemplates this)
“Only giant pretend balloon people can drink it?”
“That’s right,” I agree, smiling. “Only giant pretend balloon people.”
Because giant pretend balloon people need an energy boost now and then just like the rest of us.
Kids have terrific logic. It’s too bad most people lose that skill as they get older.
The thought process of children sometimes amazes me because they make so much sense. That said, the thought process of teenagers never fails to confuse me. Sometimes I miss having young ones around.
Guess what, Tom? You are the runner up for the GoGirl Giveaway. I’ve contacted the two winners, but if one of them fails to claim her prize, you will have it. LOL
Nothing wrong with that kids sense of logic.
@Melisa – it is a shame, isn’t it?
@surprised – I’m convinced teenagers are brain damaged. Their logic center is switched off for twelve or thirteen years.
@Mrs4444 – I am? Yikes. Not sure if I can “stand” the suspense. Ha!
@WeaselMomma – nope, it is as sound as a dollar. Maybe more so.
